GLANCE
The color is a very deep copper to light mahogany wood color/dark oak with high viscosity.
NOSE
On the nose I got nutmeg, raisins, and brownies if made with 60% dark chocolate, brown sugar, rich vanilla and notes of caramelized peaches and chocolate milkshake.
TASTE
Its initially oak forward but then you get the fruit jam notes. After that I got nice notes of brown sugar, raisins, freshly baked bread. I didn’t get any or much spiciness. It had a smooth and creamy mouth feel. The balance seems to be a bit off, as it stays in mouth for longer. Towards the end I get like a bitter oak notes that begin to ring through.

FINISH
The finish is long with the flavors that I picked up on the palate ringing through. Towards the very end you get some notes of caramel.

CLOSING REMARKS
In some sense I got what I was expecting from this batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Such as the great notes of baking spices, and chocolatey fruit jam notes. The mouthfeel is exactly what I come to expect from ECBP. I just feel comparing them to the other ECBPs I have tried such as the A120, and C920 this one came up a decent amount short. The overall balance on the palate isn’t fine tuned in, and the oak tannins overpower all the other delicious notes you are tasting towards the end of your palate. The finish felt average to me and though it was long, it didn’t invite any other new notes. The nose was amazing on this one and definitely B519’s forte. Overall if you are an ECBP fan and get this for MSRP and haven’t tasted it before, go for it! Its good but not great, cheers!
