GLANCE

Has a polished oak color with very high viscosity. Slow forming small and tall legs

NOSE

I got nutmeg, warm maple syrup with caramel drizzled on top. There were notes of sweet oak with baking spices, sprinkling of dates and raisins. As it opened up I got notes of fruit such as blackberry & strawberry.

TASTE

I got strong notes of oak, dark fruits with dates and raisins. There was blackberry and strawberry in the front. Then the baking spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg came through. Then there was a not of fresh butter with sweet butter popcorn rounding out the palate.

FINISH

The finish is long with a nice Kentucky hug. Prominent notes were rich caramel with vanilla

CLOSING REMARKS

Time and time, batch after batch, Elijah Craig barrel proof doesn’t disappoint. I have tasted several batches but nothing compares to the glorious C920. That being said the B521 is a solid offering and a great pour. It is well balanced with nice notes of dark fruits and dates. The sweetness coming from rich caramel and vanilla really wraps up this offering well. It is not the most complexed but it is complex enough to make you stop for a bit but then continue sipping as you focus on a conversation. Cheers!
