GLANCE
Very high viscosity with tall legs and a color of polished wood/dark brown color
NOSE
Its very oak forward with peanuts dusty floor. I got notes of peanut butter, cashews and hints of raisins, nuttiness with brown sugar sprinkled throughout
TASTE
It is spicy and oak forward with peanut butter and strawberry jam. You get peanut dustiness and nuttiness in the middle of the palate. Nuttiness is then followed by honey and butterscotch notes

FINISH
Long and sweet with stoned fruit and jammy flavors come through. I got hints of nuttiness and brown sugar.

CLOSING REMARKS
Comparing to the batches of 2020, Larceny Barrel Proof has come a long way. In my A121 review, I expressed optimism that Larceny Barrel’s program was now moving in the right direction. I am glad to say the same holds true for B521. During this review I tasted the A121 side by side with B521 and the new batch was definitely more balanced and the flavors were rounded out. The more complex flavors of barrel proof bourbons found in ECBP and Stagg Jrs, are starting to appear. At times it felt the oakiness and nuttiness overpowered the other flavors but overall this is a solid offering from Larceny. Cheers!
