GLANCE
Tall legs with medium viscosity and medium intensity and rich gold color
NOSE
Medium pronounce intensity on the aroma. Its sherry bomb but aside from that I got citrus fruits and berry forward notes. There were nice notes of nuts, walnuts and pecans.
TASTE
On the palate, I got dark chocolate with nuttiness and fresh bread. There were notes of raisins and dates. I got light citrus fruits in the beginning. Relatively light to medium mouthfeel. Medium sweetness and medium flavor intensity, with nice hints of oak.

FINISH
I got strong notes of honey with some gentle smokiness. There were notes as well of dark chocolate, sweet oak and hints of red fruit that linger on. The finish is medium with some complexity.

CLOSING REMARKS
After a hiatus the 15 year expression from GlenDronach made a return in 2018. The hiatus was needed to replenish its stocks and allow for them to produce to whiskey with longer age statements. Though you can sometimes find 15 years from other distillers for a cheaper price (Glennfiddich 15 year old ~$69), this is a well balanced sherry bomb. The only knock I would give this offering from GlenDronach is on complexity. First it was difficult to identify the specific red and citrus fruits and second flavors would start to develop but were short lived. Overall its a buy especially if you like fruit forward easy sippers that will leave you thinking as well. Cheers!
