GLANCE

Clear with deep intensity. Dark cherry wood color.

NOSE

Clean with pronounced intensity. Nose packs a big punch. First baking spices, dark rich cooked fruits, rich strawberry + raspberry with honey and molasses hit your palate. Next dark chocolate with zesty orange enters. This is rounded of with toasted pine nuts and peanuts. Throughout I got notes of rich oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, coffee, toffee, candied fruits.

PALATE

The palate keeps pace with the nose. I got hit with dark cherry, stewed fruits, molasses, honey with ginger and orange + dark chocolate. Here the tannin from the oak overplay their hand causing a bit of an imbalance. I got notes of gingerbread, and fresh strawberry with raisins and dried cranberries. Sweet and mouth filling with pronounced flavor intensity.

FINISH

Long with complexity. Honey, raspberries, dark cherry with chocolate and rich oak

CLOSING REMARKS

ECBP is a staple at my home bar, and most if not all batches deliver at least a satisfactory reaction from me. I look forward to the C9XX batches every year, as I have found these to be the flavor bombs compared to A1XX and B5XX. C922 doesn’t disappoint and there is a lot to dig through here. Even with the price hike at $70+, I believe it still stands as one of the best value in bourbons/whiskey out on the market. At $60 it tastes that much better. Only drawback for me was the tannins caused imbalance on the palate at times which disrupted the flow of flavors. Cheers!
