Very oily and has a nice maple syrup color and high viscosity
NOSE
Neck Pour – I got dark fruit, plums, hints of apricots, brown sugar, apple pie with sweet oaky note. I got hints of grape and dates/raisins as it opened up in my glass. I sometimes also got what seemed to fatty sizzling bacon notes!
Bottle Opened for 6 Days – I got majority of the same notes as before but it seems the bacon, sizzling fat note was more pronounced. I also got a musty wet oak, leathery note. I also got dusty peanuts with hint of maple syrup.
TASTE
Neck Pour – Here I got distinct nuttiness, oakiness with caramel and brown sugar. I get stoned fruits but then the heats enters with a lot of baking spice. It doesn’t feel well balanced towards the end as the nuttiness and oakiness swarm the palate.
Bottle Opened for 6 Days – I got more sweet caramel and brown sugar, then toffee notes and then a lot of baking spices. Mostly got cinnamon and clove, which lingers on your tongue.

FINISH
Neck Pour – The finish is long with oakiness, tannins and spice with hints of leather.
Bottle Opened for 6 Days – Same as the neck pour but got more black pepper and spice.

CLOSING REMARKS
Compared to its sibling product Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, the Larceny Barrel Proof series fall way short in almost every category in my opinion. The Heaven Hill funk is found in there normal small batch release of Larceny and I feel the barrel proof, hides it somewhat decently but I can still taste it. The finish is nothing dazzling and there is unbalance in the palate with the baking spices and the dry heat blowing out the flavors. On the nose its a joy to grab notes of such distinct fruit forward flavors and towards the front of the palate there are nice sweet flavors. The baking spice notes is a flavor not found in most wheated bourbons but does create a lively tongue feel. The body feels light, which makes the flavors not as pronounced at times. It does taste better as you open it up more.
From the barrel proof batches of Larceny in 2020, it seems the program is moving in the right direction with the A121. But in my personal opinion, there is still room for more growth. Cheers!
