GLANCE
Clear with deep intense mahogany brown color. High viscosity with slow forming tall legs.
NOSE
Clean with pronounced intensity. I got deep brown sugars, caramel, dark toffee, pecan/pumpkin pie. Rich caramelization with banana, honey, graham crackers and dark chocolate.
TASTE
Medium sweetness and mouth-filling. Here I get caramelized peaches, sweet oak, brown sugar, s’mores, stoned rich fruits, dates. Raisins and maple syrup round out the palate.

FINISH
Long rich finish with baking spices and molasses being the most pronounced.

CLOSING REMARKS
Its a Stagg Jr! If you find this beauty in the wild, especially for MSRP you will almost never go wrong. The barrel proof series continues to deliver and gives a bourbon tasting experience unlike any other. This being my first, I was blown away and would reach for it more often than ECBP if I could find it more easily (ECBP though forever will hold a special place in my heart :)). From the nose to the finish, there is amazing complexity that doesn’t overwhelm you but really amplifies your tasting experience. It drinks way smoother than the proof point with lively flavors. Marked it down for value because it is usually found for way above MSRP. Cheers!
