GLANCE
Clear with a deep intensity. Cherry wood hue
NOSE
Clean with a pronounced intensity. I got aromas of cherry, raspberry, all-spice, oak, brown sugar, caramel and orange rind

PALATE
Medium to high sweetness with a mouth-filling texture. Oily and coats the mouth well. There is this silky mouthfeel towards the back of the palate. I got notes of vanilla, oak, nutmeg and slight cinnamon. There was raspberry jam with graham crackers with milk chocolate.
FINISH
Long with some complexity. Orange rind, oak, and all-spice

CLOSING REMARKS
This is my first time trying a product from Traverse City. I went into this with zero expectations. I hadn’t read anyone else’s feedback on this product or other Traverse City product. When I took the first couple sips, I almost (I would like to emphasize the almost) felt like I was transported to the time when I tasted my first batch of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. I had a similar experience when I tasted the Frey Ranch Barrel Proof products. Ounce for ounce Traverse City is packed full of flavors and many things to dig through. This at times I can see being daunting for a newer whiskey drinker.
Traverse City was founded in 2012 by Chris Fredrickson, and his partners, Jared Rapp and Moti Goldring.
From Traverse City Whiskey Co.
“So when Chris discovered his great-grandfather’s old patents for distilling whiskey on the family’s cherry farm, it created a spark among three friends to build something close to their hearts – a small batch whiskey company that bottled not only the best whiskey around, but also the friendly, adventurous spirit of “Up North” Michigan.”
For a young distillery to be putting out such quality product is fantastic and big props to the Eurkea! group for picking a great barrel! The finish felt drying and the orange rind + spice really came through strong. The nose and palate was just a delight to experience. Definitely, a buy for me and I look forward to tasting their new creations. Cheers!
